Bedlam Foundation & Concrete Lifting Case Studies: Hilti Atrium Expansion (Tulsa, Ok)
Challenge
Hilti is a multinational tool company whose products range from power tools to types of production or engineering softwares. This particular branch of Hilti, located in Tulsa, was planning on doing some rennovations. One of the rennovations they were planning was to expand their atrium out by a couple feet. Anytime any remodeling is done, there is always going to be a change in the forces being exerted on the different supports. In order to ensure structural integridy, Bedlam Concrete Lifting was called in to construct a foundation that would be strong enough to support the weight of the new atrium wall.
Solution
Upon arrival at Hilti, Bedlam Concrete Lifting installed a total of seven Galvanized HP288 Helical Piles along the perimeter of where the atrium extention would be. This was done after the excavation of seven square shaped holes that were all dug at even spacing. After each of the HP288 8"-10"-12" leads were placed, each one recieved three additional 7' HP288 extentions, making each pile achieve a depth of 28'. This was done to ensure that each pile could successfully support the desired design load. After each pile was successfully placed, it was then fitted with a construction compression bracket.
