Bedlam Foundation & Concrete Lifting Case Studies: Crawl Space in Claremore, OK
Challenge
This home in Claremore, Oklahoma was relatively newly built and the homeowner was interested in taking preventative measures the make sure their home would not succumb to any damage or settling in the upcoming years. Crawlspaces are notorious for accumulating moisture and this moisture can lead to serious foundational issues such as bowing of the wooden floor joists. Whenever this occurs, the floors inside the house can become unstable due to the lack of support these joists are able to provide. To prevent this from ever happening, the homeowner was wanting to minimalize the amount of moisture that was allowed to accumulate in their crawlspace.
Solution
Bedlam Concrete Lifting came up with a great solution to combat any moisture accumulation from ever being an issue in this home. To start, 10 5-7' Smart Jacks with Metal Bottom Plates were installed at various locations to provide additional stabilization to the home's foundation. Then to insulate the crawlspace, PolyLevel foam was sprayed around all the surrounding rim joints. After this, a SmartSump pump system with liner, cast iron pump, CleanPump Stand, airtight lid with airtight floor drain and WaterWatch alarm was installed at the lowest point in the crawlspace so that all excess water could drain into it. 5700 square feet of CleanSpace was installed to encapsulate the entire crawlspace. Finally, a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier was placed in the middle of the crawlspace in order to evenly dissipate the humidity in the area. These were the steps taken to provide a great crawlspace protection system that will keep any moisture and humidity at a minimum as well as stabilize the home for many years to come.
